Make Me > End | Phase Transition > Future
As one chapter comes to a close, another one begins. Join us for a FREE party on August 6th with Mak 10, Sir Spyro, Nasty Bros and many more. The very best in Grime, UK Funky, Ampiano and Bashment.
Make Me crew.
Sending you love and blessings.
This is a poignant moment for me as it will be one of the last messages I send to this group of people.
After 14 years, 93 parties and, at this point, a two-and-a-half year break since our last event I’ve finally decided (realised?) Make Me has come to an end and I’ll be moving permanently on to other things.
I’d like to personally thank each and every one of you for joining us through the years and participating in what turned out to be quite a substantial part of my life.
I’m a little bit gutted.
Amongst other things, I always wanted to hit 100 parties.
But there’ll be opportunities to do that in the future on other projects, no doubt.
And it didn’t end on very a positive note, as is often the way with these things.
I’ll be sending a few more messages before the final curtain falls. Today, I’d like to draw your attention to a FREE event happening next Saturday, August 6th, in a basement in East London.
Phase Transition, the project I launched in 2020, is honoured to be hosting a final send off for legendary London selector Mak 10 who’s retiring from the DJ game after 25 years (and also celebrating his birthday, so two great reasons to party).
Mak’s pulled together an all-killer lineup of artists from across London’s underground.
The man himself will be going track-for-track with Grime originator Sir Spyro. Nasty bros bring their unrivalled energy headed up by UK Funky don Marcus Nasty, undoubtedly one of the world’s best DJs, alongside MCs Shantie, Mic Man Frost and Ten Dixon.
Logic, Jerry Rankin, Chukster, J Zulu, SP1 and Dappa Dan will be crossing the spectrum of UK Garage, Ampiano, House and Bashment to get the party popping from early.
Given we’re in the Ends there may well be some unannounced big name guests on deck and mic through the evening. I can’t say more than that… but you HAVE been notified ;)
And finally, with some kind of mad poetic symmetry it’s also the place we held the first Make Me back in 2008. Funny how these things happen.
If you’d like to join us please send names to rsvp@saviour6.com to get your place on the guestlist. Capacity is limited to 120 and it’s a first-come-first-served situation, so make sure to arrive early to secure your place in the dance.
For the online crew we’ll be streaming on YouTube via the Phase Transition channel - give us a like and a follow.
More from me soon.
One love.
Rubin
